Just deadlifted 200lbs for the first time at ~160lbs bodyweight. During and after the set, I experienced an odd sensation in my lower right hand side, somewhere between my lower back and hip. It wasn't pain, more like the sensation you have when you try to crack a joint but can't quite crack it.
I've deloaded for next time and I'm investing in better lifting shoes (I'm using running shoes currently) but I was wondering what this sensation was and if anyone else has had it.

that is pretty funny
>be me
>145lbs bw
>pull 220lbs x 4, first time pulling over 198lbs
>feel like i had perfect form
>had the exact same sensation as u describe
>went away after 2 days
this was on saturday, gonna deadift again tomorrow. gonna bump up the weight by 5lbs and will try to hit 5 rep.
dunno what caused the weird sensation, wouldnt think too much of it unless you start to feel a jolt of pain going down your legs or something like that
>indication of lower spinal disc bulge or smth

That snake image would be kinda cute if the woman's face wasn't taking up so much of the picture

I missed this board
If you have running shoes but can't afford or don't have lifting shoes, take them off. Deadlift without shoes is way better than with soft running shoes.

this is true, if you have any flat bottomed hard sole shoes like vans or converse use those instead
