People and their assumptions.
No it's NOT due to weak bones. I don't care how strong your bones get unless you're from krypton, the Humerus bone is NOT designed to take twisting force.
Your bones get stronger from stress, but bone, look wood, has a grain too it, the way and direction the calcium is laid down by your body.
It can take a lot of force, and lifting will dramatically strengthen it... BUT, it will NEVER get strong in a way as to withstand twisting force.
This is something competitive arm wrestlers know, and they never try to turn their body sideways and twist the their arm down.
When you do this you are essentially breaking your own damn arm.
look up Nathan Jones vs. Magnus Magnusson.
Last second in a last ditch effort to win Nathan gets his body full side twisted trying to get out of the hook that Magnus has him in.
Same exact injury.
Nobody here has bones as strong as Nathan Jones'.
Don't fucking arm wrestle, UNLESS you have had at least some formal instruction on HOW to do so safely.
Lots of youtube videos on the subject.

Nathan vs. Phil Martin, then Magnus Samuelsson.
Yes Nathan also played the giant in the open scene in Troy.

Had tendonitis twice out of arm wrestling. Really an activity you want to avoid if you have not much idea about it.
