If the general populace lifts with poor or incorrect form then how come the injury rates of gym goers are so low?
Keep in mind, no matter what answer you may give, it will counterindicate the advice that lifting is safer than other activities.
Low weights.

this. most people don't push themselves hard.

so in other words the studies used to support the low injury rate conclusion are useless bullshit to us real lifters?
>>39614556
>Jones BH et. al.
>50-90% injury rate
youre retarded
>>39614641
>>39614604
well this is also a valid point that there are many injuries, they just are usually pretty minor because people will lay off them and not work out for a while.
but yes, any study you've seen that reports really low injury rates is bullshit for someone testing their 1rm then working at 75%-90% of it for 3x5, 5x5, etc.
>>39614662
you could also get weakened/tweaked by lifting and not know it then "get injured" by doing something trivial like picking up a box or playing a aport

>aport
sport
most injuries are from athletes, who are straining their tendons, muscles and joints more frequently anyway
>>39614821
probably from lifting weights first.
lifting is only useful for post injury recovery
>>39614942
nah it's definitely from the actual sports.. # of games the average athlete plays has gone up a lot and more are specializing in one sport early on(leading to overuse injury) lifting is very useful for training between seasons and maintaining in-season
>>39614960
yet there's no proof of anything you said
