How much does inefficient food consumption affect weight loss?
If I eat nothing all day then come home and gorge myself on a 2,000 calorie meal, will I lose weight over the long run slower than if I had eaten 3–5 meals a day (also totaling 2,000 calories)?

I do the same.
No, calories are calories. But you'll feel like shit and it's not good for your digestive system.

I do this when cutting. I don't eat 2000 though. I have a coffee in the morning, then eat a 800 calorie dinner, which is usually fairly equal in fat, carbs, and protein.
No. The body can store excess unused energy. You almost always get excess energy into your blood stream even when you eat 3 times a day, because you're not running around with an IV drip. That's true for pretty much all animals.
I'd rather guess that eating one big meal will cause your body to absorb less of the calories, due to less efficient digestion.
When you eat many smaller meals, e.g. your stomach has time to replenish it's acidity etc (important e.g. for protein breakdown), which aids efficient digestion. I would guess there is probably some sort of similar deal going on with enzymes and bacteria in the rest of your digestive system. When you put a huge amount of stuff in there, just from a statistical perspective some percentage is bound to go through without enzymes/bacteria/acid properly hitting it.
Does anyone have any tips for weight gain and eating more? I've hit a wall where I haven't been able to put on any weight for the past 2 months.
