Is it easier to cut once you've bulked a bit? Seems it would be easier to make a caloric deficit once your BMR is higher and you can burn more calories lifting because you're stronger.

yes, it's easier, plus you'll actually be happy with the result. the only "hard" part is that it sucks to stall on your lifts.

But yeah, 20lbs of lard should defo increase your BMR by such a HUGE amount that it justifies bulking when you are already fat and dyel to begin with.
