just started squatting recently. Why does my bicep/upperarm and wrists feel so shit after squatting?

Are you front squatting? If so, it might just be a mobility thing, and you need to stretch more thoroughly.
If back squatting you are doing something seriously wrong if your arms are getting hurt from squats

Back squatting. I just googled it and it seems related to not keeping my elbows out front far enough.

You've got the barbell resting on your hands and not your back-shelf. It's gonna happen, you're probably pretty small if you're just starting out. Try bringing your grip out a little wider, and you could also try gripping the bar as described by Mark Rippetoe in "Starting Strength".
