After 1 month away from squatting because of hip injury (thanks based candito hybrid squats), yesterday I started again, with ATG Olympic style. But all the past time my toes where looking waaaaay too far out, and this time I did with correct technique. So I started with light weight in comparison to my best for 3x5 and all was good. But from last night to today my shin muscles hurt. Could this be just because I had a more narrow stance? I've never felt such pain, and I'm sure it's my shin muscles and not bones because when I knock em lightly with my hands I can't feel soreness, and I only feel sore when I stand up. What gives?

I'd help you my dude if I could, but I just do squats like Rippetoe-sensei taught me, and I feel no pain and I'm steadily increasing in weight.
youre not used to it
stretch your calves and push with your heels

It's your tibia dorsi being worked on the descent. Your knees are just going out further then they are used to (nothing wrong with btw) and as a result your tibia is getting worked hard for the first time. It's may also just be tight.
A good stretch is to sit on your shins with the top of your feet touching the ground and leaning back as far as you can. Feel the stretch but make sure you don't hurt yourself.
