I'm extremely tired of oats, /fit/. Can I substitute grits or cream of wheat? Will this affect my gains at all?
Ronnie Coleman used to eat grits all the time when he competed
you know what to do
Oats have more protein and fiber and are generally better nutritionally, but grits aren't devoid of nutrients or anything.
I also enjoy grits, and I always keep them on hand along with oats. I cook mine in 1/2 water 1/2 milk, load them with butter and salt about 3/4 of the way through cooking, then grate some cheddar over them right as I take them off the stove. You can make them runny and serve them in a bowl, but I prefer to make them thicker so I can serve them on a plate alongside some fried eggs and fried green onions. I mix the onions into the grits when I plate everything.

I put scrambled eggs on top of mine. The other day for PW six eggs one can of tuna and a half bag of frozen veggies mixed in on top of two packs of instant grits. FIRE UP THE GAINS TRAIN
