If no, why not?
Its one of my favorite exercises.
I do 6,25 Pl8s per side x 10 standing and 5 pl8s x10 seated as last set.
I do standing calf raises with 75kg for 30 reps on the hack squat machine

To get calves to grow you typically need a huge amount of volume.
I'm not willing to dedicate so much time on them.

calf doms are a bitch, that's what's up.
be sure to do some kind of calf exercise every time you hit legs. you don't have to go crazy on the volume, just something to get a nice burn in your calves so they stop getting sore so easily and keep in proportion with the rest of your body.
