so I lost 30 pounds and now it's time to start lifting
how long does it actually take to look decent? if it's gonna take years I don't wanna bother. can I actually make decent progress in like 6 months?
Shoulda started lifting from the start. It's gonna take whatever amount of time it takes. On a proper bulk and program you'll have a good amount of muscle on you within 6-12 months. 12-24 for very good.

it all depends on you
If your diet is on point, you're training hard and progressing, you will see decent progress in less than 6 months

In 6 months you can easily get "ripped" by normie standards. By then, the dysphoria will have already claimed your soul though.

no you won't make it so leave

kys autist
I don't want "ripped" legs or abs, I just want a decent set of arms. how long does it fucking take?
First effects, the constant little "pump" in your muscles after 2 weeks.
First real effects after 3 months.
Then you get in love with the progress.

DAILY reminder this post is BULLSHIT.
I see DYELs all the time at my gym. Train with NO intensity. EAT like shit. They make NO PROGRESS FOR 1 MONTH THEN I NEVER SEE THEM AGAIN.
THATS THE FUCKING REAL WIDE WORLD. THATS MOST OF THE PEOPLE THAT STEP INTO THE GYM.
They never make it anywhere but back to their sad pathetic DYEL lives on the couch.
You two? YOU MIGHT MAKE IT SOME DAY aand then you will LOOK LIKE ME Come back when you hit that second and third goal and we can talk.
I LOOK FORWARD TO SEEING WHAT YOU GUYS LOOK LIKE. BLOW ME AWAY.

Good job losing 30 lbs. It's impossible to know how long it'll take you to look decent, because it depends on genetics, how you look now, your diet, your training schedule, your definition of "decent", your age, etc. You can definitely make some progress in 6 months though if you work hard and stick with it.
