>join LA Fitness after being at my university's gym
>it's really nice, isn't crowded, has plenty of free weights, and is close to me
>get a call today from them
>some lady is trying to push a free physical assessment or something where they teach you proper form and dieting and probably try to force you into a trainer
>don't want to do it because I studied form religiously, and my diet is good for what I want
>already making good progress, getting stronger and gaining weight
>try to politely decline
>she says, "Well, obviously you don't seem to care too much"
>I hang up
I almost lost it. Is LA Fitness this bad?

They are a business and don't know your history with lifting. They treat you like every other new member, a dumb fat fuck who doesn't know the difference between a treadmill and a bench press. The free training session is just for them to push their shitty training rates.

no, just a bitchy person. my LA fitness is great. I would take the free assessment just to see, Ive done two free ones (one today actually) and its definitely educational, but i like what Im doing now.

The bench press is where you sit and eat your free membership pizza, right?

I go to a different gym and I still consider it a great gym even though they called me at least 3 times to set up an appointment even though I declined each time. They stopped after that but they tried more than they should have after I said no the first time.
