It's fine in the sense that it won't make you fat, yeah. Let me make clear though: alcohol will impact your gains. I drink too, but let's not kid ourselves, shit is straight poison.

Also fwiw when I said "soda" I meant "club soda" which has no carbs or calories. It has sodium but that's it. Essentially carbonated water.

Yes any hard liquor is the same essentially. Vodka, whisky, rum, gin, tequila, doesn't matter. Bullshit like southern comfort doesn't count because it's got added sugar.


If you want to use a mixer use something zero or low calorie like seltzer. Personally I use tonic because it's really not that much calories and mixed with gin is fucking awesome.

No. A "beer belly" is just being regular fat, you can get one with or without drinking.

The issue with beer is the large amount of calories. If you drink 10 beers that's basically 1500 calories if it's normal beer. The "light" pisswater typically has 64 each. That's a lot more per drink than some hard liquor with a 0 or low calorie mixer.
