Do you work out two days in a row?
I feel like I get better gains if I do, but should I also be doubling the recovery days also?
Or should I just not be working the same muscle group two days in a row whatsoever
Are you new?

Eat enough, sleep enough, hit different rep ranges, listen to your own body and it's fine. Google the study on Norwegian powerlifters who trained daily and DUP style training.
personally i like to do 10-12 sets of each muscle group and give them 3 days rest to fully recover and rebuild, look up protein muscle synthesis
some people sacrifice volume for even higher frequency; for example they'll squat every day but only do 3-5 sets. also they may find higher frequency keeps their technique tight. correct me if im wrong?

I appreciate the advice but that doesn't really answer my question

A bit longer rest than needed. Protein synthesis is done by 48 hours. You can hit full body every other day.

Welcome to /fit/.
A lot of the rest days concepts are micro-optimizing and bro science.
Sport science papers have pretty low bar of scrutiny.
Just try it for a year, and post back here.

When I first got into lifting I did. I overtrained like a mother fucker and saw some pretty big size gains. Then I predictably got injured and had to stop lifting for five months and all those gains disappeared.
Now I am way more careful, I do warm ups, try to maintain perfect form and always have at least one rest day between workouts.
My bros are giving me shit for only working out 3 days a week. All my lifts just hit intermediate, should I switch to a 4 day brosplit now or keep going with my current routine until I stop seeing gains? Doing modified greyskull LP for now and my goals are mainly strength oriented.

Dont do same muscle group 2 days in a row, other than that doesnt really matter as long as you get enough rest and food in
