If you're really worried about eating too much protein, don't depend entirely on animal sources for protein.

Plant sources have very low impact on your liver.

Like 50% animal protein, 50% vegetarian protein would be pretty easy on your liver, and y ou would get enough animal protein that you wouldn't have to worry about imbalances or bioavailability or what not.
