No, not Chinese. Dad is from the Midwest, Mom is from NYC. Both come from old money families so money for tutors/school isn't an issue.

But the tones are really difficult. I've only spent 1.5 years on it so im still shit (compared to native speakers), but I'm not so bad at languages to begin with. English is my first language and I've been learning spanish since I was four.

Let's assume A is correct. That means D is correct as well. That means there is a 50% chance of getting the right answer. Therefore A is not correct. Neither is D.

Let's assume B is correct. Then there is a 25% chance of getting the right answer. Therefore B is incorrect.

Let's assume C is correct. Then there is a 25% chance of getting the right answer. Therefore C is incorrect.

None of them are correct, because each leads to a contradiction.

you seem to act as if the chances are 1/4, the the question ruled option c [1/4], leaving the odds at equal 1/3's

there is a logical way out of that. If we assume that whatever the answer key says is 'the only correct answer', then A and only A or D and only D (based on the answer key specifying either one of those) can be answers satisfying the parameters.

>>
>>39297824
you start by assuming 25% since there's 4 options, but then there's two 25% options, making it 50% chance. however, since the answer's now B. 50%, there's only a 25% chance of picking it, bringing you back to square one.
>>
>>39296358
2/3. This is a basic Monty Hall problem.

>>

>two semesters left

Invent a time machine and get started on that approximately six semesters ago. I'm not sure what you want to do (I assume either get a CPA or go into investments/finance), but your GPA really doesn't mean too much past a certain cut off point. Even then, quite a few firms don't even look at your GPA.

Getting your resume noticed is all about extra-curriculars that show you can get things done in an environment that isn't hyper-structured like school. Leadership positions in student organizations, programs like 3 Day Startup, doing high-level work for a non-profit, good internships, etc.

What school are you at?

As far as an academic career yeah. I don't regret the MD at all. Most of my friends from the phd program have gone into industry b/c think about it, did you really spend 4-6 years earning your doctorate to earn shit as a post-doc for 3+ years for the 1 in 50 chance (engineering/sci phd) that you MAY get a tenure track position (*which says little about if you ever will get tenure)? The money is shrinking and going to fewer and fewer places.

If schools can accept reality and treat phd programs as a tool for teaching students usable, marketable skills and not just focusing on creating a new generation of academics then sure, but it doesn't seem likely.

It's become more of a board for whining about not having a gf, being a NEET, feels threads... generally stuff bleeding over from r9k and pol.

There used to be a lot more lifting and dieting related discussions, more motivational/uplifting posts, and you could actually find sources for gear.

As weird as it is if I want to talk about or get advice on actual lifting plg is really the only thread I can go to. fraud is mostly blogging. And there's no zyzz, scooby, or any other worthwhile trips around.

I worked as a lands officer for a few years, but I don't like it that much, so I'm going back to school in January for land appraisal. It's a 6 month academic course and 2 year probationary career experience period for a new professional designation that goes nicely with my previous education and will let me work in a city and not the wilderness and make a decent living, and a great one if I get into any land speculation myself.

I'll tell you what my man, I was an accounting major before switching into my major now and it's a lot of programs and concepts for the most part. You'll quickly come to realize that programs will be doing a lot of your work for you during study but come exam time it's time to do it freely. It's very very very competitive and very very very very boring but it's an extremely stable future for job prospects. I would actually tell you to double major and not just go accounting but go for a liberal arts degree (inb4 >liberal arts) that teaches you critical thinking, rhetoric, problem solving, and people skills because honestly no matter what degree you end up with if you have those you aren't boxed in in what career you go down because a lot of jobs (including quite a few accounting ones) teach everyone on the job and you learn as you go.

No solution. If you chose by random you have a 50% chance of hitting the answer 25% but you have a 25% for 0% and 50%. If you chose 50% that would mean 50% is the right answer but that's wrong because you have a 50% chance to hit 25%, but than that would be the right answer and in reverse for if you chose 25% so I guess 0% might be the right answer but it doesn't make sense in my head.

You guys are looking at it the wrong way. Its a gimmicky question, the answer lays in the wording. It says 'what is the probability of "A and B" being the correct "answers". The question isn't clear but we are left suspecting that there are either two or three correct answers- two being more logical. In order to get the answer correct, you must get two choices correct. Since C is wrong, we are left with three combinations: AB, AD and BD. Ultimately A and D have a 1/3 chance of being correct.
