Ok guys let's settle this once and for all. Does cardio really kill your gains?
Too much cardio can inhibit recovery, however running 2,5 km after a workout won't kill your gains. Besides, a bit of cardio has a LOT of benefits.

cardio has a lot of benefits over being sedentary. compared to heavy lifting + some conditioning it's much less clear what the benefits of additional cardio are, if there are any at all.

Only if you don't eat enough to make up for the loss of calories from cardio. Cardio does have great benefits though.

Yes , yes it does. It will murder yo gainz. Want cardio ? Rest less between sets. period
>>39292757
it's not enough to just replace the calories. the body's capacity for recovery is finite, and recovery from any kind of intense cardio will compete with recovery from lifting, plus they result in completely different adaptations. eating more helps, but it doesn't nullify the additional stress of cardio.

According to the available scientific evidence: yes, it does.

How to properly incorporate cardio with lifting? I'm doing a 3x full body week routine, on a small caloric surplus (3k cal). When should I cardio and which type (HIIT, etc) is the best?
Tbh I don't care about having big lifts, I want to be /fit/. That means I want to be strong, fast and resistant. But the memes have gotten to my head and I'm scared of hitting the treadmill last I'll lose my gains.

the proper way is to wait until you're intermediate then add some HIIT, like prowler, sleds, hill sprints etc a couple of days a week.

>wait until you're intermediate
Why? Recovery issues?
>>39292592
>be me
>start plateauing
>plan to change my program up
>want to incorporate actual cardio because endurance isn't great
>decide to try before committing to it
>add two cardio days to current routine
>plateau disappears
>make best gains of the year
Yeah, definitely a meme. While I didn't think I had good endurance by any means, I never would have thought my endurance was holding back my lifts (I cycle to work so always thought it was reasonable but not anything great). Anyway, would recommend!
