So I'm unfit and fat, and I've started going to the gym recently.
When I've been doing arms (biceps, triceps) I've only been feeling it in my forearms. To my knowledge I'm doing the exercises right.
Is this normal?
Happened to me at first. Try flexing your biceps and triceps at the top of the rep.
You don't have to squeeze the shit out of the dumbbell. When doing curls, hold the bar just tight enough in your hand that you keep your grip and let the weight bend your wrist down. It shifts the focus to the bicep. Also ur forearms might just be lagging so sometimes it's better to grind out the sets where ur forearms burn to get that grip strength and forearm size. Good luck my dude

Thanks for the information
Look up an ez bar for curls if it hurts when you let go.

Forearms are a natural weak link when you start out. Same with your lower back when you start doing deadlifts. Good luck melting away your repulsive gelatinous folds breh. And to pump away the filth in your arteries do shit tons of cardio on the elliptical or by swimming (so your frail bones don't crumble under the enormous force of your pudgy feet hitting the ground while running)
