/diy/ here, just the terminology they use convinces me this is meme-tier bullshit. Carbon steel is fucking normal steel. Goddamm. Basic steel comes in 3 categories: low carbon, medium carbon, and high carbon steel. Jesus fuck this pisses me off when they try to pass off standard industry stuff as some kind of voodoo witchcraft. There are actuall more than 3, like ultra-high carbon, but the three I listed above are the basic steels
