Not him, but I was huge myself. When you're fat even at an extremely young age, growing up dealing with the discomfort and pain that being so overweight comes with is the norm and all we know. You often times don't realize just how bad you were until you're losing the weight and understand how much better you physically feel.

For me it was always about eating when there's good food available. I'm sure it started out as forcing myself to eat when I'm not hungry, but it got to the point where I was just hungry all the time. It's difficult for me to control myself around shit like pastries and candy, which was a problem because my parents always kept that shit around. Plus I've always been a nerd tied to a PC which doesn't burn too many calories.

Moving out was a major step in the right direction for me. I avoid self-control issues by doing my best to avoid buying shit I can't control myself around. It's much easier to resist buying something once than to resist eating it constantly. Plus now I'm getting some physical activity and putting on muscle. I feel a million times better than I used to and I get compliments from family/old friends whenever I see them in the first time for a year or two

I've had success with gains and weight loss and I still struggle with a food addiction. It's fucking hard /fit/. As one anon said, not so much about going out of my way to get junk, its resisting it when the folks have it in the house.

I've been crash dieting on about 500 - 800 calories a day and I've been doing it for so long(3 months) that I cannot eat a TV dinner that I used to eat 2 of, cannot eat a can of Progresso soup, and cannot eat large portions of rice because it is so heavy on my stomach.
