Would these be good weightlifting shoes, /fit/? Leftovers from high school wrestling.

Boxing > wrestling

Have fun getting your ass kicked practicing a useless technique
>>
pls be in london
>>
>>39139902
You'll probably need a matching purse with those.
>>

What happens once I close the distance?

Not him but high school wrestling isn't very applicable in the real world. The earth isn't made of canvas and half the techniques taught won't work as soon as the guy gets the idea to strike your testicles inside you.
>>
>>39140088
It's just a sport lol. I'm not going around fighting people.
>>
>>39140088
Not OP, but ground techniques are only as good as the surface they're performed on.

Getting slammed into concrete is much worse than getting slammed into an athletic mat.
>>
>>39140126
So are you arguing that grappling is more effective on concrete than mats?
>>
>>39140126
Wouldn't that argue in favor of it?
Also I'm just looking to see if these would be good workout shoes, not a martial arts discussion.
>>
>>39139902
If they still fit right, yeah wrestling shoes are near perfect for lifting.
>>
>>39139902
Some people like a little heel elevation in their shoes when doing squats but it isn't that big of a deal. For everything else it should be fine.

I used to use a pair of SS 9s (pic related) for lifting until I got a pair of Chuck Taylors. They worked well for me
>>
>>39139902
Seems fine, flat sole, good traction and ankle stabilisation.
>>39139915
I can tell you never practiced either.
>>
>>39140088
No fighting styles are applicable to the real world because civilised adults don't attack each other.
>>
>>39139902
They look too unstable. Get something with a proper wooden heel.

And you're not doing weightlifting, that's a sport. You're lifting weights.

Uppercut or bodyshot, your choice chump.
>>
>>39140407
Edgy.

Some times you need to defend yourself. Feel free to complain about "nu-males" on 4chan while simultaneously being a total bitch

Like when? What times? When mummy takes away your tendies?

Yes they are very good lifting shoes. Many IFBB pros and stuff use wrestling shoes, to the point that one of the most popular 'wrestling' shoe is now more known for bodybuilding: Otomix. D-Maks are also pretty much wrestling shoes.
>>
>>39140399
>too unstable
They're practically rubber socks mang they're the most stable non heeled shoe
>proper wooden heel
that no one uses ever
>>
>>39142639
They're curved. And comparing them to non-heeled shoes is stupid because most people who know what they're doing squat in heeled shoes.

>proper wooden heel
that no one uses ever
What are you even talking about?
>>
>>39142649
>>39142649
>curved
Where? On the side of the foot? Where your foot is curved?
>most people who know what they're doing squat in heeled shoes
except that it's individual preference and plenty of people don't
>wooden heels
Very few lifters use wooden shoes

>Where? On the side of the foot? Where your foot is curved?
Yes. If you want something that just replicates you foot, don't wear shoes at all.

>except that it's individual preference and plenty of people don't
Ok, every single powerlifter or weightlifter either uses heeled shoes OR flat, wide shoes.

>Very few lifters use wooden shoes
I do while squatting 220@74kg. So does Stephen Manuel. So does everyone with a pair of Adistars. You can buy a polymer heel to do the same, but they're more expensive.
>>
>>39142709
Except that most people have to wear shoes while lifting
Wrestling shoes are flat wide shoes.
Most of people choose polymer or whatever they're calling Adidas powerlifts these days
>>
>>39139902
Wrestling shoes are great for lifting. I wish I had some.

If they're a 10.5 mail them to me pls
