Don't get him into lifting so young, just make sure he keeps athletic, playing full contact sports that require endurance (american football/rugby, lacrosse, wrestling, BJJ, etc.) This will make sure his hormones are optimal during puberty and give him the best frame for when he starts lifting at the age of 15/16.

Seriously, get him in to a full contact sport, it'll build huge confidence in confrontations. Also a martial art he can practice against an unwilling opponent (boxing/judo/wrestling/bjj/muay thai/K1/San Da, the list goes on.)

Make sure he enjoys it or he won't continue with it, maybe do it with him.

And get his ass off pot.
