What's your opinion on road biking?Got my first road back in May and fucking love it. Ride about 100 miles a week and dropped 40 lbs from 225 lbs. So who else is apart of the road bike master race?

Only 25, turning 26 next months. Blow me.
Bought my first roadie 3 years ago. I didn't ride it this summer all that much, but I have 2 other bikes that I ride most of the time. A commuter and full sus mtb.
Riding a bicycle is just about the only way I do cardio.

I live in a city in the Netherlands and consequently I think all these guys should be gassed.

No man, looks like it from the pic but it's not. Took that picture when I got a flat right after riding through a thunderstorm
i skateboard, longboarding is dangerous so i avoid that shit at all costs. my friend mike smashed his skull in on the concrete and now is paranoid, aside from that biking gives you erectile dysfunction, srsly not joking.
I don't ride enough, it's always rainy here. But I love it, thanks for the reminder man. Cycling is awesome.

Road biking is great. I got into it a little over a year ago, and I lift as my main form of exercise, so cycling always comes 2nd to that. But I typically have been riding about 1 or 2 times a week during the summer. So I'm still very much a novice and have yet to do more than 20 miles or so regularly (my area is very, very much filled with hills with few flats, so I typically do anywhere from 10-15 miles a ride).
It might be my favorite form of cardio I've done so far. Running is nice but cycling is lower impact and you can go farther and faster. Swimming is great, but my gym doesn't have a pool. Plus with cycling, you can just leave from your home and go where ever you want to.
I have a Specialized Allez Sport ( in lime green. I like it a lot, it seems like a good beginner bike. What Trek is yours? Really like the color scheme on it.
I want to get a road bike but I don't want to kill my gains, and I don't want to eat a fuckton more to make up for all the calories burned cycling.

Stomme Wielrenners
i cycled through the half of germany last summer with a lot of luggage on a rack, slept in the woods, ate on a concrete in front of supermarkets, washed in public restrooms etc

you can do short rides, hill sprints and what-not. Still loads of fun
>>39017625
You won't kill your gains by doing cardio. Mild cardio helps with lifting AND fat loss (in other words, it benefits lifting hard if you're bulking, and benefits fat loss if cutting).

I want to do this (bike touring), but in Ireland. What bike did you use?
