I've been training for over a year now, off and on.
But I can't do proper pull-ups. How to get started?
I'm 180cms and weigh round about 74kgs at the moment.
haha peanus weanus
Whatever you did, I would not call it 'training'.
Start with negatives or with a pull-up machine.
Eat enough and you will be good.
assisted pull ups

get started with calisthenics.

yeah, but I started off as a weakling, at 64kgs,
stats
deadlifts : 132lbs x 6
bench : 110 x 12
I know my stats may not appear charming, but I'm proud of it. I'll take your advice though.

any good programs for a beginner? I've always wanted to train at bodyweight.

Read Convict Conditioning, 40% of the book is bullshit and filler. But the exercises and progression are very good.
You can mix it with "You Are your Own Gym" to get better results.

thanks.

Same as me, 180cm, started at 65kg.
But after a year you should have been able to do more pull-ups. Starting as a fatty is a different thing.
I would guess you neglected some parts of your body. Read the sticky and pick a routine for the whole body, then you should do fine.
Also eat enough, but 10kg in a year sounds about right for you.

Do eccentric pullups. As slow as you can.
If you're really desperate, just hang on a bar and fidget.
I started with chinups, couldnt even complete 2 pullups.
When I could at least 3 pullups I started doing them and doing negatives at the end.
5 Months later I was doing 3x10 pullups with near perfect form. Eat and progress.

Are these your starting stats?Because they are weak as hell, especially the deadlift, which is female tier.Hell, an average men without gym could deadlift that.
Something must be TOTALLY off in your training for 1 year to get these results.
Should had done SS faggot.

>from 3 pullups to 3x10 after 5 months
just lol, thats almost half an year.
What helped me the most was negatives. And start with chin ups (palm facing you). It's easier to learn since it incorporates biceps too. Just jump, grab the bar and slowly lower yourself down. Do this as frequently as you can until you can do a full chin up. Best of luck breh
You either do assisted pull ups (with a band)
Or negative puill ups, google it.
