>>

Is stretching that important?
>>
>>38936265
To be flexible yeah. You don't need to be flexible to lift weights

>arguably more important than starting strength
>implying
>>38936173
these are for improving your flexibility, not warmup stretches
>>
>>38936265
you won't be able to deadlift or squat properly without flexiblity. it can also improve posture and reduce blood pressure because your arteries become more flexible.
a lot of people say it improves recovery time but I have not seem scientific evidence for that one yet.

Have you seen scientific evidence which say if you aren't flexible you can't squat or deadlift??
>>
>>38937319
also I have read you shouldnt stretch every part of your body though, depending on your goals.

I don't want to stretch my spine because I don't want it to be loose, I want it to be as strong and stable as it can get. I feel like I don't want to stretch my ankles either because more mobility on them would make them more prone to injure, as I have read. I wouldn't want to stretch anything that takes my shoulder blades apart, since my chest is already too tight.

well, this one is personal experience. without flexibility I can't raise my hips and load my hamstrings properly without bending my spine.
without flexiblity I can't go ATG without tilting my hips forward.
