Didn't see this before hitting the gym today. had a good back workout. My buddy who's showing me the ropes gave me some preworkout but it was only like half a water bottle so idk if that's a full dose? Didn't really feel different from yesterdays workout though. I'll keep this in mind and lay off it for now.

I take it on days I work. I'm a mail man and walk 7 miles a day not counting steps inclines etc. It's night and day but I also cycle a week off every 3 weeks.

Okay brohs, let's turn this into a real thread. I went out and bought a tub of whey today from a supplement shop and they gave me a thing of pre-workout for free.

Does it actually do fucking anything? What can I expect? Are there side effects? What makes one preworkout better than another?

its basically a whole pile of stimulants lumped together into a drink mix
the idea is it gives you a shit-ton of energy so you can beastmode through your workout and hit high reps, but its not really necessary as long as you're eating properly and getting proper rest, though it can help you push past plateaus

Preworkout is bad cause it's OVERPRICED AS FUCK and if you're using it as your source of creatine, beta-alanine or another good supp then usually they don't have a high enough amount. It's just overpriced caffeine and filler. That's why I make my own and drink coffee or take caffeine pills. Little bit more work but 1/10th the price.
