When did you get over the deadlift meme and realize it's an ego lift?

I haven't done a conventional deadlift in 8 months and not only do I feel better I also made considerable gains in the posterior chain and spinal erectors with it.

there are multiple articles comparing diddly to other rehabilitative exercises for lumbar spine, and diddly blew them out of the water

just always keep proper form (part of this means avoid working in your 1-2rm range where form fails regularly - unless you are looking to compete as a powerlifter there is no reason to train over your 3rm)

100% of them are designed to strengthen stabilization muscles. many are isometric, as a range of motion can aggravate spinal injuries. almost all of them are structural exercises.

deadlift meets all those criteria, except it actually results in strength.
