I overlooked the "zero" on the can and thought it was just a white energy ultra. the normal energy ultras have 0.0g carbs per 100ml which is enough to break fast.

if there's truly zero calories in it, then it won't break fast. there's no FDA approved dietary supplement that can spike insulin levels if they carry no nutrients

That may not be true. As always verify for yourself, but the zero carb sugar alternatives are not zero carbs for everyone. Some people will still get carbs from them, and others will at a minimum still get an insulin dump into their system.
