Squats and Deadlifts are just variations of the same exercise. They target basically the same muscles with only minor differences in intensity (e.g. squats work quads more intensely, deadlifts work abs more intensely). You don't need to do both squats and deadlifts.

Prove me wrong.

>Squats

Contracted upper back.
Eccentric to concentric stretch reflex cycle.
Hips to parallel with constant back angle.
Doesn't work grip strength.
Balance components is greater.

>Deadlifts

Isometric stretch of upper back from extended position.
Concentric to eccentric with no stretch reflex.
Hips in "quarter squat" position / back angle changes as you hinge at the hips.
Works grip strength.
Balance component is lessor.

Try them out to see the differences.

fpbp, /thread, ib4 samefag (look at posters number) etc etc

Try deadlifting for a couple of months as a leg workout. See if you get any quad gains (protip: lol u wont)
They are somewhat similar compound movements but absolutely not interchangeable. Deathlifts engage the posterior chain much more where squats load a large part of movement and weight to the quads. Especially high bar squatting.

>bench is just a variation of flys and tric. extension

>ohp is just a bp variation

But that's true.

I did only deads and was fine. If anything, I preferred the physique it gave me more.

I've always built legs very easily, so that might be why.

Squats won't give you traps but deadlifts will

which is better for grappling? squats or deadlifts?
>>
>>38796141

thats like asking: should I go missionary or doggie style? why not both bro?
>>
>>38796226

my quads are naturally big because i'm a turbo manlet and i did a lot of sprinting in my teens

so if i train them they will fucking explode full centaur look

so that's why i'm looking for alternatives like deadlifting or more lower back strength

I already have good upper body strength because i did weighted calisthenics for a while

Rippletits needs better haircut. He looks like has downsyndrome
>>
deadlifts are maximal hip bend with minimal knee bend
