Good diet/nutrition tracking software

I've been looking for tracking software of this kind. I know there are tons of mobile apps and web apps that do this, but I would prefer a windows or linux version. Do they exist? I'm pretty good at keeping track of it on my own, but I feel like it would be more helpful to track your entire diet over time, so you can see in more detail what actually happens. Some of the mobile/web apps are pretty decent, lots are pretty shitty. I guess I'd just prefer to have pc software, however, any suggestions on mobile/web apps that are good, and free, would also be greatly appreciated.

Myfitnesspal works well enough for me. Could also try fatsecret but their UI didn't grab me.

Their webapp leaves something to be desired but it all syncs well enough.

i could see that, the ability to create a food, as in totaling up everything in a sandwich i commonly eat is helpful, rather than looking it all up or estimating it everytime

My favorite part. Works great if you do a shit load of meal prep. Or just regularly eat at various restaurants. It generally takes me all of 60 seconds to log a day of meals nowadays
>>
How the fuck do you just guess stuff though is my only thing?

Like I have half a lasagne that I made in the fridge.
Do I weight it, and just search lasagne? Or do I add all ingredients myself?
How can I be as accurate as possible?

If you made it yourself you can program the recipe into the app. Otherwise you just choose the first entry and hope it's close. It's a bit of a bitch the first time around but it's nice to track. It's good to not be obsessive though. The difference 100 - 200 calories will make in a three month cut is negligible

Calorie tracking sites should let you make a recipe. Just weigh your ingredients. Weigh your serving or just portion it into 1/4ths or something.

usually for things that i make, I will literally add up the nutrition info for all of the ingredients, then make my own "food" entry for it, awesome if you prepare the same thing frequently enough, which i assume most people do. Honestly, I can keep running numbers in my head and do calculations easily, so I generally would just add the stuff up as I went along, but I'm looking for a more concrete way to track it all, because I'm sure that would be much more helpful
