I've recently started pole dancing (Male) in order to look at the girls there, however i'm really getting into it, to the point where I've booked a private lesson with the teacher to get better, and I've been told i'm good enough to compete at an international level in a month or 2. I've never really had upper body strength and this is holding me back, so /fit/, what is the best way to develop high density muscle mass?

Buy a pullup bar and put it in the door frame of a common path. When ever you pass through do a few pullups, say half of a usual set or less.
