So I've heard various online sources and the press ranting about how good coconut oil is. A quick look at Wikipedia tells me that pretty much every dietary / health organisation advises against it (e.g. world health organization, NHS, etc.).
What do /fit/? Is it good for making gainz or losing weight? It sure does taste good though

overpriced, useless unless u can make good asian/indian stuff
It's pretty much a meme. It's one of the good oils to cook with, but it's not some magical manna from heaven
A lot of this shit is just marketing to fat people by saying "See? You can cook with a fuckton of oil and you'll be healthy!"

WHO also recommends 1% milk and soymilk cus m-m-muh fats so take that shit with a grain of salt
Shit is a fucking ripoff m8
What oil does /fit/ cook with?
Yes, good, be a good goy and go back to the food pyramid, get most of your calories from carbs!
It's ok. I find that even the processed kinds still taste vaguely of coconut oil so I usually only use it when making something sweet or that will have something sweet with it, like brownies or pancakes. It really isn't magical like so many people think, but it is good for sex lube or for making canna oil. Otherwise I pretty much always use butter.

well, trust a cornflakes company to release a scientifc study" promoting the consumption of corn products

>Spray olive oil w/ calories.
w/ out calories *
It makes fried/scrambled eggs taste slightly more interesting, as far as health benefits though it's not gonna be any different from olive oil.

I switch it up between coconut/ olive oil spray depending on what I'm cooking
what about coconut milk? i started adding it to smoothies for extra calories but it has a lot of sat. fat in it. as far as i've read sat. fat being bad is a meme but is eating 100% of my fat for the whole day in one meal bad?

>Blogs and forums talk about how coconut oil is amazing.
>Medical experts advice against it.
Well, shit. I don't know OP.

You know the sprays have a ton of calories right? They're just allowed to say there's none because it's under 5 calories per super short burst.

>as far as i've read sat. fat being bad is a meme
Stop getting medical advice from paleo blogs. No credible physician will tell you that saturated fats are harmless.

If the boy wants to believe that the calories evaporate when you put olive oil in a spray, let him believe.

It's a means of injesting healthy fats. It is not the only means. Aim to hit whatever your macros are and if you're lacking in fat, adding some coconut oil is a possible means of correcting that. Nothing more, nothing less.
