Why are chinups so exhausting compared to dips?
I mean if feels almost, if not as exhausting as sqaut and deadlift?
Very large ROM if done properly would be my guess. I also find pull ups easier than chin ups, but that's probably just because I train them more.

I can only do like 5 proper pull ups, is half assed form useful to increase my number of pull pups?
I don't find chins exhausting at all
>>38504383
Probably not. I'd recommend doing assisted reps with resistance bands over reducing the ROM.

Chins are peculiar.
The first few reps are real easy. But after the 8th rep they get really heavy.
I also find that I have to rest a real long time after a set to recover fully. Why is this?
because you're not good at them.

Because, if done properly, they engage quite a few muscle groups at the same time

Same here. I can do one set of 15 without too much trouble, but can't get 3 sets of 10 without taking a pretty lonmg break in between sets
>>38504370
For me, I find chin ups easier than pullups
>>38504282
I find dips more exhausting than pull ups. But then again, I'm at 65 lb + bw for dips and only 50 lb + bw for pull ups for 10 reps.

Because most compounds require long rests in between sets once you're out of baby weight territory. Even bench and ohp require 5 minute rests for me if I want to do, say, 3X5@85%1RM.
