>Start taking SS seriously
>Once i got to 90kg squats, i started being a massive pussy and only adding 1kilo a week because it felt way too heavy
>Start eating double than what i did
>Every workout, adding 1kg on both my DL and Squats
>Already on 100kg Squats as of late
Is this CNS adaptation? or am i actually gaining strength?

Why wouldn't it be strength?
>>38447590
CNS adaptation is strength...

i thought perhaps my body was already capable of this weight but i just wasn't mentally strong, as autistic as that may sound
i still feel like i have much more room ahead with my squats before i even plateau
Does it count if you're using a smith machine?
I mean it's still the same weight just in a bar that makes it not move forward and backwards

ok kid
smith machines remove any stabilisation effort from your body
ie when you do a proper barbell squat, multiple muscles over your body are contracting to keep you upright
the smith machine removes the majority and turns it into more of an isolation, eg bench press vs chest press machine
also, the smith locks your body in a fixed line up and down, have you ever seen someone squat in a smith? that shit just doesn't look natural
>taking 10 weeks to go up 10kg
You literally could have gone up that much in 2 workouts
this always happens to noobs
people can squat and deadlift a lot more than they think, it's a mix of mental barrier and lack of knowledge
>>38447914
Smith machines are only good for hanging your clothes on. I'm not joking.

Smith machines are pretty good just not as your primary lower body exercise.

>New DYEL
>Deadlift at 235 lbs
>Too scared to push my squat to similar ranges since I can't just throw the bar away if I fail
>>38449226
use a squat rack or power cage that has safety bars so you can easily escape the weight if you can't get up
or have a spotter
or increase your lifts a little at a time and learn to know when you're about to fail
