>tfw starting to wake up in the middle of the night

how do I stop this? I want 8 continuous hours, not this 4+4 shit
>>
>>38389685
Maybe your area waking up from noises. Or your breathing is obstructed from apnea.

Me? I have to piss 2x a night because I'm old
>>
Waking up in the middel of night is the best maan
>>
>>38389707
Fuck no brah, I always wake up around the same time at night because I need to pee, fucking things sucks! Also, when I'm in my half a awake state I'm really tempted to eat something because my blood sugar levels are so low. This is bad because I'm on a cut.

Also, I do a lot of cardio so I sweat a lot so I guess that's one of the reason I pee so frequently(that my body lacks sodium to hold the water).
>>
>>38389746
i sleep from about 10p to 5:30/5:45am every day

if i drink any sizable volume of liquid (more than 1 cup of water) past 8:30pm i tend to wake up to urinate.

hopefully this is relevant and may help you
>>
>>38389685
When was the last time you got a new mattress?
>>
Biphasic sleep is the human default setting. Our sleep only became compressed into an eight hour block after electricity became common.
>>
you're waking up because you're not eating enough carbs/food in general.
>>
>>38390964
i eat 3400 kcal per day without fail and am 5'10 163 lbs though anon

like 280 g carbs or something like that too
>>
As long as you can fall back to sleep (or if you can't immediately, as long as it's not causing you to get less total sleep due to your schedule) it's completely normal. Don't sweat it.
>>
>>38389685
>tfw I never had issues sleeping before working out
>tfw fit told me I need 8 hours of sleep
>tfw I can't sleep a full 8 hours anymore
>>
>>38391043
Honestly 5-6 hours is enough sleep for anyone
>>
>>38389685
stop having nightmares. lol
>>
>>38391114
Jesus hell no. I can barely function.

I mean, this worked before i started lifting and actually trying to make progress...

It's easy to get conplacent with being only barely functional/being functional but feeling like shit without realizing how much like shit you feel becsuse you've never felt better. I'm over that. I want to actually feel good.
>>
>>38391169
I don't know what the hell is wrong with me.
I usually get 4-5 hours of sleep a day and I feel perfectly fine in the morning, whereas if I happen to sleep for more than 7 hours I wake up tired as fuck.
>>
>>38392538
Do you lift and lift hard?

Because that should give you enough wear and tear to NEED that sleep.

On the other hand, when all I did was run daily, 6 and a half hours was my sweet spot. Nowadays that amount of sleep has me dragging.
>>
>>38392538
you've adapted to it. i functioned fine on 6 when i was a DYEL and weekend lifter

the moment i started pushing i had to hop it to 7 to not look like a damn zombie. now i almost always get 7.5 just because

If you look at the sleep patterns of nearly all professional athletes, they sleep A SHIT TON. I'm talking 10-12 hours during heavy training seasons.
>>
>>38392586
>>38392619
>>38392638

Huh, I'm still dyel, guess that explains it then
>>
>>38392693
Well, lifting isn't your job. There are quite a few successful amateurs that have built great bodies with far less roids/sleep/time.

But still, it is a factor to consider along with diet and routine and effort and consistency.

>>38389746

Piss the bed, it's nice and warm

This

Once i went from getting 6-7 hours of sleep to 9 hours of sleep straight for 2 days i was able to jump from benching 3x5 to 3x8 instantly, sleep really does help your gains out alot.

Had the same problem for years. Nothing has helped me. I'm trying kegels to not need to piss all the goddamn time
>>
>>38390900
Came itt to say this
>>
>>38389746
>need to pee
don't drink water close to sleeping time
go to toilet and pee, even if you don't feel like it
>>
>>38394182
Polyphasic sleep has been debunked. There are countless blogs online of people tracking their experience on polyphasic sleep schedules and it all turned out negative.
>>
>>38394182
>brain hack
>useless phases of sleep
Yeah I guess all those damaged cells will repair themselves on sunshine and unicorn farts. How is nobody seeing the red flags?
>>38392638
This makes absolute sense. If a regular 9-5 sedentary office worker needs 6-7 hours of sleep, it makes sense that athletes need way more than that. The body needs to recover.
>>38390900
Source.
>>
>>38389685
Overtraining.
I start to wake up at 3-4am if i overtrain.
Normally I wake up at 6am.
>>
>>38391043
How late are you working out? You should have at least ~3 hours to come down from working out before going to bed.

NEVER do this. You're conditioning your bladder to retain less urine, thus making you need to piss more often. Worst case scenario, it can lead to incontinence.
>>
Been doing this 4 sleep, 12 awake shit for over a week now and I am going insane
