How do I fix the craving for alcohol?

I've been dry for four months now since I started lifting and looking at my gains from auschwitz mode really motivate me, but I can't stop this craving for some liquor, at times I feel like I'm hyperventilating and the only thing that can calm me down is some booze.

I used to drink four bottles a week until I went cold turkey and started lifting.

I work out six days a week, would it be okay to drink a little on my day off or would it kill any gains I made that week?
>>
>>38212635

You'll make gains slower but it's fine. Just track macros. Gona get some gin now.
>>
Bro stay off if it. For God's sakes man.

do you really think that there is such a thing as "drink a little"? don't fool yourself. it starts with a small beer before you go to bed and ends with 4 bottles a week. there is a reason why you want to numb yourself. find it. try to improve yourself and keep yourself busy with stuff. learn meditation, stop fapping, stop using the internet like a drug or whatever... just keep improving. it will be a long struggle but you can and will do it. you quit drinking man! that'S something to be god damn proud of. so many people try and fail. stay strong brother

Awesome words, not Op but thanks.
>>
You shouldn't ever drink if you're that addicted to it. These people telling you it's okay to drink occasionally are fucking idiots who fail to see that you obviously have a problem. If you have a history of alcoholism you'll never be able to enjoy it in moderation, no one ever is. You'll fix the cravings by staying off the stuff and learning to live without it.

You know full well alcohol is the cause of your problems, the reason you feel these cravings to begin with. You know it's fucking stupid to think drinking alcohol is going to make it better.
>>
>>38214175

This man.

Maybe someday you can drink again but OP, you have a fucking problem. Stay away from it until you can live without it.

In context to the old, op and his likeminded people seem quite weird.

All you have to do is literally just not consume it.

>drink only water
>never even smoke, drink or use drugs
>feel no necessity to even be addicted to sugary things like 80% of the population.

and I no longer have empathy for things like op, since I cannot comprehend it how their mind works.

Op, there is no shame in going to AA. Seriously, if you have a problem with drinking, it's much better to have people around to help you

Its whats the leftists would call a "social construct", you only believe it to be fun because everyone is doing it.

If you remain a bitter person who is very strict of himself during it, it wont change him. Like it happened with me. I stopped drinking because it did not change my nature. It had literally zero effect on my social ability or personality while surrounded by others.
>>
>>38214641
This

Drinking on weekends is fine but everyday for no reason is an alcohol problem
>>
>>38214689
You clearly didn't drink enough, when I get drunk I'm very social and up for doing just about anything

even piss drunk when I walk weird I can still retain control of myself, and still dont become nicer or kinder. I kinda still remain the same.
>>
>>38214541
That's your opinion. Almost every normal person would disagree with you.
>>
>>38214696
Yeah I'm an alcoholicand can confirm this, the problem starts when you drink whenever you're bored just for the hell of it than over time you can't enjoy anything without being drunk
>>
>>38214726
>>38214738
I rather think that you guys are the weird ones for liking this piss, slow maker really.

>popularity fallacy

Doesnt really change the fact that there is also a 70% and higher obesity/overweight thing, when 100 years ago there was none.

Popularity anything does not matter even a little bit in our modern, and weird age. Civil war, nuclear strife or anything breaks out and you guys are out of booze, doing the food scavenging again, a thing that you did for millions of years in similar forms.

Forget alcohol then.
>>
>>38214778

Lol people drink out of boredom m8 if civil war or some shit broke out you wouldn't even think of alcohol even if you were a heavy drinker

Four bottles a week.. You mean 4 liters, right? Because if you mean 4 individual beers, KILL YOURSELF FAGGOT

Does a small or even large amount of alcohol per week affect gains in any way other than your macros/calories consumed?

Pretty sure he means 4 liters of liquor and not 4 bottles of beer or something

Nobody craves alcohol unless they're physically addicted and 4 bottles of beer a week won't do shit
>>
binge drinking sucks, fuck alcohol except for small amounts
way better drugs around than that shit
>>
>>38214879
Small amounts doesn't do shit you gotta get hammered to enjoy it
>>
>>38212635
drinking isn't too bad. it's bad for your gains but otherwise you need to have control of it

i'll just never do it alone. that's too sad for me and that seems to be where drinking problems come from. also stay sober at random events so you don't lose the ability to socialize sober
>>
>>38214896
I like drinking outside in the sun
you don't notice shit until you stand up and have to get home
a night out on stimulants is just way better though
>>
>>38214916
I can confirm the issues start when you begin to drink alone at home, it escalated quick to getting drunk everyday by myself and whenever I went out with friends I'd get completely wasted
>>
>>38214858
>>38214868
So it increases your risk by 5%? If the risk is 1% it is now 1.05%?
That doesn't seem all that significant to be honest, I read the association between smoking cigarettes is like 13 times, 1300% the risk for the disease.
>>
>>38214876
You never know bro. There's some pretty autistic people on here. I've never heard someone refer to a fifth as a bottle.

Op, I drank .5-1.0L a day for decades. Been sober for 1.5 years. It gets easier, especially after a year. Its just a bad habit you need to break. Whatever you do, don't let your mind dwell on craving it. Interrupt bad thought patterns. Go outside. Watch a movie. Play a game. Do cardio.
>>
>>38214984
>Op, I drank .5-1.0L a day
Of what?
>>
>>38212635
Turn it into a fitness addiction it's better than alcohol
>>
>>38214984
>I've never heard someone refer to a fifth as a bottle.

I've always found "a fifth" to be an extremely annoying measure. I only recently figured out that people mean a 750mL bottle because it's approximately 1/5 of a gallon. I mean, how fucking obtuse can one get? Let's buy alcohol in the US, but instead of a simple quart, we'll but 750mL. And instead of calling it what it is, 750mL, we'll refer to it as what it APPROXIMATELY is, one fifth of a gallon. But we'll leave off the gallon.

That's like asking how far is it from Seattle to Portland and answering "a sixth" because it's around one sixth of the distance from Seattle to Los Angeles.

So yeah, saying "x bottles per week" generally makes more sense, in my opinion.
