This DYEL COD gamer kid with a youtube channel from my highschool started doing a lifting/gaming challenge how does /fit/ feel about this?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0emin-GGNzk
>>
>>38153615
I'm honestly impressed that a dyel can bench press 1 pl8 for 10 reps. It took me 3 months to get to 1 pl8 bench for 5x5
>>
>>38153649
Hes got gr8 retard strength
>>
>>38153649
That sounds like really slow progress isn't it? I feel like 1 month for 5x5 1pl8 bench is more the average or am I wrong?
>>
>>38154050

Depends on your starting point. Chad can bench more than that on his first day because of his alpha genetics, while I started benching the bar and couldn't even do 1 plate for 1 rep after 9 months of training.
>>
>>38153649
>tfw I can't bench or I get retarded pec imbalance
>>
>>38153649
yeah, even more impressive that he isnt leg driving or back arching
>>
>>38153649
What was ur height/weight
>>
>>38153615
So you are 18+ and still in highschool? How stupid are you?
>>
>>38153615
>>38153649
That can't be a 45 pound plate.. it's too thin. Look at the plate below, it is much thicker and looks closer to a 35-45. It looks like he's benching those disc plates used to make you look like less of a DYEL
>>
>>38154270
>What are summer birthdays?
>>
>>38154299
Nice guess/projecting!
The actual purpose of those plates is to practice form at the standardized height with lighter weights though. Not everyone can start dls with 135 for example.
>>
>>38154270
>not turning 18 your senior year

ok anon i'm not even OP

but still fuck you OP
>>
>>38154383
>implying you can't use those discs for benching
>also implying not everyone can deadlift 135
>>
>>38154398
I skipped a grade(I'm Asian)
>>
>all these people impressed by a 1pl8 bench for 10

This place really is pathetic. As for your question op, I think a fitness challenge could be a good thing but I see no reason for him to put it on youtube.
>>
>>38155465
i hate being THAT GUY and i know its tired as hell but i was seriously repping 135lbs in 8th grade
>>
>started lifting last week
>I can only bench 25kg
>could barely bench the bar when I started

estimate for 1pl8? anyone?
>>
>>38155492
Took me 3 months benching once a week like a pleb, i now bench 3 times a week because reasons
>>
>>38155492

Who cares, shut up and lift
>>
>people in this thread seriously impressed with a 135lbs bench and even questioning if it's legit
holy fuck how dyel can you be

>tfw almost lifting for 3 months now
>6'2 skelly
>gained 13 pounds so far
>165ish now
>only benching 115 for reps
>havent stalled yet though i guess
>>
>>38155941
Don't think about what others are lifting, or how much you "should" be lifting.

Just lift.
>>
>>38155941
This -> >>38156074
You have your potential, now aim to your potential and keep going.
Don't care about how much others lift.
>>
>lifting for 1.5 years
>only bench 1 pl8 for 8 reps
why is my progress so incredibly shit?
>>
>>38156880
bad diet, bad programming or lack of sleep.
if you dont let your muscles recover between workouts they won't grow as much as they could.
you need to be in an anabolic state for as long as possible.that means you need to eat high protein meals often (every 3-4 hours),drink enough water, and sleep well (8 hours minimum for lifters)
>>
>>38156895
I do. 8-10 hrs sleep/day,
200 protons/day in 4-6 meals,
5 day split, chest 1/week
>>
>>38156904
>5 day split does not even bench 2 plate
maybe just do SS my friend it is for people like you
>>
>>38156904
is there enough volume in your workout? do you progressively increase the weight you do?
if you never try to increase your weight on the days you're feeling strong you will stall.
>>
>>38156895
>you need to be in an anabolic state for as long as possible
>>
>>38156925
I did SL for ~6 months and started stalling on all my lifts so I decided to move to another routine that had more volume.

>>38156928
>incline db bench 3x8-15
>flat bb bench 3x8-10
>crossovers 3x8-15
>flys 3x8-10
>dips 3xF
>>
>>38156950
you only have 3 sets on the flat bench, try going for 5 to train your CNS more.
>>
>>38153615
It's pretty obvious that you're trying to get /fit/ to be your personal army against this dude.
Fuckk offff
>>
>>38156950
only 1 bench day isnt going to do shit, bench 3x a week
>>
>wingspan is almost 4" less than height
>I arch the bench press, retract my shoulders as much as possible
>bench 3x a week
>been benching almost a year if not a year idk
>this kid out benches me I think
>tfw his range of motion is literally over double mine

I don't fucking get this shit
>>
>>38157000
I do cable flys and dips every second workout additionally because I feel them using my chest much more than the pench press. Is that good enough?
>>
>>38157024
if your bench sucks why don't you try benching more
>>
>>38157023
>I arch the bench press, retract my shoulders as much as possible
>tfw his range of motion is literally over double mine
there's your problem,he's training his whole rom and you're archcucking like in you're in some american powerlifting contest.
>>
>>38157049
because I'm more after developing my chest than writing down big numbers for a lift. And while I don't feel my chest that much when using a barbell I can get a pretty good pump with all exercises that allow me to move left and right arm independently (dips are a strange exception).
Of course I still feel bad when someone as DYEL like the guy in the video outlifts me.
>>
>>38157082
if you can't even bench fucking 1pl8 then I guarantee you have no chest

you don't need to "feel" it in your chest to know that your chest is doing most of the work, unless your form is terrible. you're wasting your time doing all that fluff. get to a 3pl8 bench and tell me if your chest still looks bad
>>
>>38154050
When I was 16 it took me a year to go from 90x5 to 155x8

At 23 it took me a year to go from 120x5 to 265x3

Depends on genetics, program, diet, hormones, as usual.

Most noobs I keep tabs in my gym take 3-4 months to 5+ rep a pl8y
>>
>>38154074
Work on dumbbells, machines that are unilateral/right and left handles aren't connected.

Make sure shoulders, elbows, wrists and grip are symmetrical. Use low weight and concentrate on MMC, especially on the negative. Chest, shoulder, tricep isolations to work on imbalances and MMC
>>
>>38155941
Daily reminder that If you're going for aesthetics, take "more weight is better" and ego lifting out of your head.

Many good BBers will use much lower weight than they could, and use amazing MMC, and good slow form ... a good BB can get ripped arms curling 25-30lb dumbbell, for example. Then there's the guy that does swinging back extension bent arm shrugs with 70s and calls em curls.
>>
>>38156904
I seriously doubt this if you can barely bench 1pl8 after a year and a half.
>>
>>38153615
why the fuck that thing on the wall says '99:59'

reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
>>
>>38157516
I do okay on db exercises but bb bench doesn't feel right eventhough I tried pretty much every grip width.
>>
>>38157068
That's because he's a fucking retard who will eventually blow out his shoulder and I care about form and joint health?
>>
>>38155492

I started with the bar. Took me 10 months to hi 1pl8, but i was hospitalised for a few months, had a terrible diet, etc

if you do it right it should be doable in 3-5 months i think
>>
>>38155487
>>38155465
Different genetics bruh, as well as different levels fitness due to playing sports and such.

Some people take 10 months to bench 1 plate, some take 1 month, some start out benching 2plate
