>be me
>lifting for about a year now
>encourage fat ass co-work to start lifting with me
>we go to gym together, do max outs to see where each other stand
>I max squat at 275, pretty happy (I weigh 168lbs)
>he barely gets lmao 1plt up
>two months pass, we decide to max out again
>I get 300 on squat, super stoked
>he gets fucking 3plt for 1 rep
>mfw been lifting for over a year working my ass off to achieve 300 squat
>mfw fat ass co-worker lifts for two months and surpasses me
>why is this a thing?

Eat more twinkshit.
Because he's fat
Squatting twice your body weight is much more impressive
blubber takes muscle to move around

As a fat guy who is now trying to go /fit/, I call it "Fat Guy Strength."
Fat Guy Strength is the fact that fat guys lug around hundreds of pounds every day compared to a normal person. You would be able to build the strength to do it too if you had to carry aruond 100-200+ extra pounds of weight every day. Every step is literally heavy lifts for the legs.

Yeah I see this but didn't get to the upper body part. Our bench press max 2 months ago were 250 (me) and 155 (him). Now I was happy with mine (up to 270) but his bench sky rocketed as well (he got up fucking 235!). How does being fat make that possible!
I was a fat fucker for 15 years and I didn't get this mythical "Fat Guy Strength"
Seriously, all my lifts are weak as fuck after 6 months of SL
I have a question.
Should I take a break every other day, or every other day from working out?
Like, workworkbreakworkworkbreakworkworkbreak
or
workbreakworkbreakworkbreakworkbreak
I see several different sources telling different things.

lol lies, you're just baiting. No way you bench 250. Fucking summerfags
>>38081416
Because he has more mass. Moving mass is easier for him.
>>38081416
OP, you gotta take your eyes off your lifting partner and work on you.
Be happy that you introduced him to something that is improving his life, but continue to work on yourself.
You've gotten complacent because you're working alongside someone weaker than you.

How about when you invite your skinny friend to the gym and the fucker surpasses you in deadlift?
Granted I don't really train deadlifts
>>38081921
You just answered your own question.

Don't be a crab ass nigga
