How long is it supposed to take to complete an ICF 5x5 session?
I'm normally in the gym for around 1.5 - 2 hours, am I going too slow?
New to lifting btw.

If you want volume stick to 3x8+, if you want intensity then stick to 3x5/5x3.

That's way too long. You're doing too many warm ups and resting too much. Fuck blaha. You should squat every session, but 5x5 should be optional depending how good you feel.
This is why the alpha destiny novice routine is better. The end goal is to squat 315x5. Pick 3 or 5 working sets. If 3 sets the rep range to aim for is 15-18, if 5 sets rep range is 25-30. You can add 5-10lbs each workout just doing 3 sets of 6, 5, 4, but it doesn't matter what reps you use to get there. It's all optional.

I don't know the program specifically but aren't most 5x5's relatively short? 90 minutes is reasonable, 2 hours sounds too long. Not in the overtraining-meme sense or anything, in the sense that you're probably doing something wrong and inefficient.

Don't listen to these dyel faggots. I got off icf a few months ago and it helped me get to 1/2/3/4. The workouts take awhile, usually 2-2:30 hrs and the occasional 3. It's a ton of volume and longer rest periods towards heavier weights is to be expected. Once you start hitting heavier weights and the workouts take too long, switch to 3x5 to keep the progress up. For reference, I switched when I had 205 bp, 275 squat. It's a good program if you want SL but with extra accessories for extra gainz. And if you don't like the time, switch to a different program

I've been doing ICF for about 6 weeks now. It is normal to take that long, and that is the cost of adding these accessories to a basic 5x5.
Most of the people in this threat obviously haven't even read the program so you can go ahead and ignore everything you read.
