..and I live like there's no tomorrow, BECAUSE THERE ISN'T. Family had no money, so no college for me, been working my entire life, and never made enough to 'save for retirement' (as if that makes any sense to me anyway) and 'have a life' at the same time -- so I choose 'having a life' while I'm still young and healthy enough to HAVE one.

Say what you will, I literally DGAF what anyone thinks.

My life consists of: Sleep, work, train for road bike racing, and if I'm lucky, some social time with friends. That's it. IDGAF anymore about women and relationship shit, I'm sick to death of having to make compromises on EVERYTHING just to keep on good terms with a woman, and after enough decades of it, surprise! sex isn't that great after all. I get more enjoyment out of riding a bike, in the long run, than a 15-second orgasm.

So what, you ask, am I going to do when I'm too old and beat up to keep racing bikes, or make enough money to live? When life stops being fun, starts being too much of a pain in the ass? Simple. Find a clean, quiet, painless way to permanently Check Out. Why fear death? It's inevitable. I'd just as soon choose the time and place myself, rather than pointlessly cling to life as long as possible, and end up in some hospital bed, with tubes and wires sticking out of me, like some pathetic fucking lab experiment. Screw that shit. Undignified, stupid, painful for me, painful for everyone who knows me, stupidly expensive for no reason. Some might say it's cruel to take yourself away from people who care about you, but frankly it's my decision, when the time comes, and they'll get over it faster if it's just one quick shock and then burn what's left of me.

Meanwhile: At 51, 200 pounds, ~10% bodyfat (DXA scan verified, not some hackneyed estimate), massive leg muscles, and a resting heart rate of 41, I'll keep on keepin' on, and will do that as many years as I can. Cheers!

You have to be somewhat smart to be in a trade, I'm living in Canada and I'm a 3rd year electrician at 19, the median age of people in my 1st/2nd year classes would be like 26, some people fail the class and the schooling is a lot more advanced and difficult as opposed to what I actually do at work but I've seen complete retards become journeyman. I'd say getting into a trade would be a good idea for anyone at least in Canada, I make 26/hr and the work isn't that hard, girls and older people have respect for my career and I get to go to college for 2 months out of the year, bang sloots and party then get a raise if I pass, would recommend if you can work hard and have some drive
