If you can do 12 regular chinups why aren't you able to do 6 one handed chinups

If you can squat 3pl8 5 times why can't you squat 6pl8 2-3 times?
>>
>>38010128
or 1 times 12pl8?
>>
>>38010101
Muscle groups support each other and spread the load to give you more leverage and thereby more strength with less stress on a single muscle group, so losing an arm means you not only cut off half you muscle strength, but also the support network of the muscles throughout the whole body, which results in losing way more than half your overall strength
>>
>>38010101
why dont you just try one 1 handed chinup and then come back
>>
or why not 1.2 one-finger pull ups?
>>
>>38010228
no, this is not the reason.
strength is not directly proportional to endurance

Jesus what are you some kind of doctor?

Pick one

Not the reason, but may have some truth to it (see people who can squat more than their bodyweight but can't do 1 pistol squat)

Ok OP, I'll take the bait.

Let's make some assumptions. Say you weigh 100kg, your chinup moves your center of mass a distance of 1 meter vertically up, and gravity is a constant 10ms-2. Let's also assume that your grip on the bar and your joints (in particular your glenohumeral joint) have infinite strength and require no energy to sustain. Then let's also define a frame of reference for your chinup; at the bottom is height 0 and at the top is height 1m (as stated previously). Let's also ignore air resistance, the gravity of the moon, and all that other faggy shit that makes calculations messy.

So at the top of your chinup, your velocity is 0 and you have gravitational potential energy of m*g*h = 1000J (relative to the point at the bottom of your chinup). At the bottom of your chinup, your velocity is 0 and you have potential energy of 0. So clearly we need to use 1000J of energy to move you up to the top. It makes a sort of intuitive sense that if each side of your body can produce 500J of energy 12 times then one side of your body could produce 1000J six times. Unfortunately for you, that's not how it works.

See, your muscles have a maximum force that they can exert, no matter how much fuel you pump into them - that's why we lift, to increase this maximum force. The force needed to pull your fat ass to the top of the bar is, at minimum, greater than m*g = 1000N. If you accelerate at 1ms-1 during your chinup, then it's 1100N (since m*a = sum of the forces in the vertical direction = F_pullup - m*g). To do a one-handed chinup that accelerates at 1ms-1, a single side of your body must be able to exert 1100N for the duration of the movement, whereas with both hands each side must only exert 550N.

Tl;dr strength is not endurance, one-handed chinups are fucking hard, OP is a faggot and stop making these troll threads

If you can bake chicken for 20 minutes at 350 degrees how come you can't bake chicken for 5 minutes at 1200 degrees?

>>38010615
you can

Thats the crispiest chicken of all time

Endurance is a type of strenght tho

can u explain it like im 5 and stop using commie units

N? J? potential energy? is this DBZ?
