I didn't see one already going; so nootropic general?

What are your thoughts on nicotine as a nootropic? In gum, patches, or another non-tobacco form of course.
I'm heading out right now to pick some gum up, I'm planning on using it as a late evening stimulant that won't disrupt my sleep too much, given its short half life; is that a good idea?

I also drink alcohol or take opioids once or twice a week, and take xanax occasionally. I can't find anything concrete on how pure nicotine will react with those.

>your thoughts on nicotine as a nootropic

gwern has written pretty much all there is to read about it on his website.

/r/nootropics is pretty much as good as it gets online. if you want more information about noots, then that's the place to go.

nicotine is awesome.

it just sucks that it's insanely addictive.

if vaping weren't a fucking meme-fest i'd take it up to feel that sweetspot of productivity again.

Yeah I've been there and read all up on it, I guess I was more so just asking for advice on the good evening stimulating bit.
>>
I pack a lip every night for an hour or two before I go to sleep. Doesn't wake me up at all, nice and relaxing actually
>>
>>37995207
Try a nicotine patch before bed. I'm a pack a day smoker and wouldn't recommend smoking, but the nicotine patch will keep your brain active while you sleep. Prepare to lucid dream and buckle up.
>>

What's the best form of nicotine for nootropic use? Gum? spray? e-liquid?
>>
>>37995567
I'd say that the absolute best is q-liquid absorbed through the skin, followed by a patch for all day absorption, or gum for immediate use.
>>
Anyone had any experience with Noopept?
>>
>>37995207
got my hands on a nsi-189 supplier so i'll be trying that soon
>>
My general experience with things commonly lumped together as "nootropics" is that outside of the genuine stimulants (pehnylpiracetam and the *afinils), most everything is placebo tier bullshit. But those two are productivity monsters; pehnylpiracetam also makes a great workout aid (hence banned by the IOC). I alternate them days during some workweeks if I have to be on my A game from a productivity standpoint.

Theanine (alone for anxiety and +caffeine) seems useful but may be placebo. Phenibut may work for me as well but I don't get the likeness to alcohol others describe.

I was able to "feel" tianeptine, but it's basically just a recreational opiate and not a nootropic. I immediately threw out what I had ordered after taking it the first time.

Haven't tried microdosing lsd, but I suspect that probably has real effects too. Same with nicotine as it is a real stimulant.

Noopept just makes me irritable, if anything.
>>
>>37996457
Love the shit, notice a profound improvement to most aspects of life. Most of my friends became tired and irritable though.

>microdosing lsd
sounds like a good way to severely down regulate your serotonin
>>
>>37995207
>makes a thread about nootropics
>talks about nicotine and opioids
Think you are confused buddy
>>
>>37997524

xanax isn't an opioid, friend
>>
>>37996457
I like it.
It brings me back to baseline if I haven't slept in 30+ hrs.
It's kinda like cleaning your glasses/windshield to me, it doesn't actually enhance anything just makes the most of what's there.
>>
>>37997536
It's a benzo.
Op specifically mentions opioids.

YOU FAGGOTS HAVE TO GO BACK.

Nicotine can be considered a nootropic actually, it has been show to improve cognitive function, decreases schizos psychosys and even decreases alzheimer risks. Problem is having those positive effects, without the negative ones.
>>37995252
And? I mean, i vape, and even through most vapers are absolute cunts, i just do it at home anyway, if you don't fall for the idiot subculture revolving it, why care?
>>
>>37995567
Would recommend vaping, especially over smoking and chewing tobacco. Can't speak for patches and gum however
