Actually cold water is not all that great for us. The only reason you feel better is due to the deep breaths you take to try and insulate the body. But water that feels cold for a very short time and within about 1 minute you should acclimate to the temp and it will feel almost warm in most spots. Those are optimal showers due to not being harsh on your heart and joints its not hot enough to be harsh on the skin and hair.

Oh yeah Im sure they do cold showers in Greenland cause being cold is enjoyable.
