I've been trying to gain some muscle mass and get /fit/ as of late. Today I pushed myself until I threw up so I'm pretty sure that I did something wrong . So any helpful advice for a nonathletic newfag?

read the sticky, browse here or other places often to keep it on your mind and stay motivated, push yourself but not too hard (consistency is more important than brute force) remember to always have fun doing it and don't give up because the results and slow and subtle and take a while to show up
When I started working out I threw up a couple times. Turned out I was pushing my heart rate higher than I should have been.
I've since bought a heart rate monitor and have developed a pretty good sense of how far I can push my body.

did you eat before working out? you need a couple of hours after eating to safely work out and push yourself, since your body will expel unneeded things such as the things in your stomach.
