what kindof muscle gains can i expect to gain from starting swimming?
i would primarily be doing freestyle "sprint" swimming with a little bit of breaststroke mixed in.
also, do you guys have any good recommended resources for training?
i was thinking I would just do 8-10 25 yard sprints every other day mixed in with more LISS swimming for ~30 minutes.

Massive upper back and lats.

what makes you say this?
Hello /fit/ fellas, I was going to make a thread for the following questions but since there is already this one on swimming, here it goes.
I've been pumping iron for a year and a half or so, the thing is that I'd like now to combine the sweet sweet lifts with some swimming, so...
>Does anyone have a routine(s) to combine swimming and hitting the gym?
>Does anyone have a good beginners guide on how to swim?
Also, how many of you swim? What have your results been?

Swimming is nice. I found a place with a really nice pool. It's heated (to like 70*), and they really keep the chlorine in check, so when I get out I don't feel like puking and my eyes don't burn

Almost 0.
Former state finalist swimmer here.
There's an interview with an Olympic coach who said that Michael Phelps was one of the physically weakest people he had ever seen at the Olympics guys first time going.

You will burn a fuck load of calories per minute swimming, that's one good thing but yea, the strength/size gains are pretty much non existent.

seems nice
you get a sick back. Still got huge lats from my years as a competitive swimmer
