How really important is it not to overtrain? I'm a begginer (3 months lifting) I have a bench press machine in my house and when I'm stressed I like to bust out a set or two. I probably do this like 3 times a day on top of ss. Is this gonna destroy my gains.

I think I've fucked my tendons from curls. I literally started lifting this weekend, and have been following SS while also lifting dumbbells at home. I only lift 10kg dumbbells, but the inside of my arm where my biceps connect to the inside of my elbow are really hurting when I try to straighten my arm, and my arms just generally feel really stiff. Am I overtraining? I do an extra 5 sets of 10 reps at 10kg.

My gym buddy insists on doing 8 back exercises and 8 bicep exercises whenever it's back day. I think he's retarded, and when I try to tell him that we're doing way to much he just calls me a bitch.

Beginner can't "overtrain," but a beginner can really fucking hurt their elbows by overdoing it.
That happens with running all the fucking time...hurt knees or feet from people who decide to start running hard-core, all at once. Find another exercise you like and mix it up.

You risk getting tendinitis if you curl every day. Your doing a three day split, you could do arms on Monday and Tuesday. Your joints are sore because you just started lifting. Make sure your stretch
