That was yesterday, and I have pretty bad muscle soreness today. I felt like the 15 minutes where nearly my maximum. Should I just continue doing this every day or should I rest until my muscles aren't sore anymore? I don't mind the pain, I just don't want to injure myself.

jumprope is a killer. take breaks, try to outdo previous records. If you're a guy, gamifying things always helps. It allows you to compete even if you're exercising alone.
Keep in mind nutrition is the most important aspect if you want to lose or gain weight

I know I'll take flack for this because this board is filled with crazy DYELbros, but it's better to start slow and experience lesser gains than to get injured and fuck yourself up.

Don't do so much. Start with moderate changes. By simply eating more clean and getting the right nutrients, you'll drop weight without even working out. Working out is great, but even by simply lifting three times a week and eating healthy you'll lose weight at a healthier and safe pace.
