Is foam rolling and stretching the same thing? If I'm told not to stretch my upper back does that mean no foam rolling?

stretching is for flexibility
Foam rolling is more like tissue massage than stretching, but in the process of rolling body parts out you stretch a bit too. Depending on why you need to avoid stretching your back, you may be fine.

I recently foam rolled my t-spine for the first time.
My mobility has improved extremely, but now I have slight pain in that area all the time.

I used a roll stick on my legs before jogging the morning. Help slightly.
However, form roller after leg day lifts is a much! Hurts like hell during but will lots of water and glutamine, I'm back within two days instead of four. Its a great tool
