I can pull 5pl8 conventional. So i figured if i tried cheating the deadlift, i could probably PR, but i could barely sumo deadlift 370.

I guess my question is, how do i become better at cheating ?

your arms are long proportionally, some people just arnt built for sumo. the problem is that in your sumo stance your arms have no tention on them and are essentially wet noodles till your legs extend, in sumo there isnt alot of extension in the legs
