Just started oly and it's going good so far, got a couple of questions though:

Yes. Everyone has different grip widths for each lift, and not just the snatch.

Yes, to some extent. But that's not the most important considerations when it comes to grip width.

Just do regular cleans instead of power cleans, and add in regular snatches as well.
And add technique work.
Keep in mind the focus of SS is to build strength, though. WL isn't just about strength.

What is the problem if my mobility is pretty good for bodyweight squats and even front squats, but the second I do a backsquat of any weight, it doesn't look so good?

I've tried many stability drills and I also work on mobility religiously. I am I missing some crucial mobility somewhere in my hips?

I have a medium/wide stance for WL I guess because it helps with my long legs and manlet body.

It's nowhere near as upright as I see online from different lifters.

I'm tempted to say it's because Americans accept too many misses in their training, but that's only a guess. According to a guy I knew who trained in LV, Broz lets his lifters miss as long as their form was perfect.

This is also just a guess, but I see most other countries use lots of weakness correction in their training protocols, e.g. jerk recoveries.

Honestly though I'm not qualified to offer anything more than conjecture

Today while lifting I felt a little pop in my lower back. I stopped lifting straight away and a mild pain began to set in but it's nothing too bad and I could still deload and re-rack the bar etc.

I've had back injuries before but I've never had a "pop" in my spine. Could this just be muscular or does a pop mean it's almost definitely spinal? It doesn't feel that bad but I'm really concerned.

i had this a few months ago, it's not spinal i didnt get mine checked out since i can still lift, it just gets very sore every now and then. i still squatted a pr like a month after this happened and made tons of PR on snatch and clean and jerks

just warm up and roll your hamstrings and do lots of rdl/goodmornings before lifting, feels better to me everytime i do that. and i did that even when resting at home with just bw just did a ton of reps to get the blood flowing in there

I thought the Bulg's philosophy was that you put 100% of your energy into only the lifts you do in comp, and you train like it's a comp every day. I thought all bulgs did was snatch, clean + jerk and front squat for assistance (they still front squatted but dropped back squat because it's not as specific).

First reason is that i have a class at school that makes me do push press, back squat, front squat, incline bench and clean

bulgs did front squat and back squat depending on situation but tended towards front squats

i guess they normally did only front squat

right now i'm doing only front squat

and i do more powers than bulgs would normally do, or at least until now. i improved my power to full frequency recently

Is caused by friction and pressure. I used to get the same thing under my nips when I would do weighed sit-ups with the plate resting on my chest. I wonder if you are creating enough of shelf with your traps, as it looks like it's basically on your spine. (Don't rest the bar on your spine).

I feel like I have a shelf during setup but it never feels tight around my traps, only my lats.

The middle part of my upper back does not feel tight, only the lats and rear delts do. Is this a problem?
