Finished week 9 of Candito's new squat program recently, attempted a new PR today...

Old max was 501 in competition, had 505 set as the starting max and 525 as the goal.

495 was stupid smooth, wasn't able to keep my chest up on 525 and failed- I think 515 would have been in the bag without a doubt. Looking back I should have attempted 515 prior to 525 since I've never had anything higher than 501 on my back.

Then some back raises, and I left. Time was a little short today.

Sheiko has programs (his advanced programs) in which you increase your max after one of the skill tests.
Polkov (global mod in the Sheiko forums) says he adjusts his (already inflated) maxes after skill tests (see pic)

The point of not increasing it during the comp period is because you're preparing for a competition. If you're not competing, it doesn't matter.

Of course you will, specially considering how large in volume Sheiko's programs are.

But keep in mind that while the big three will work almost every muscle in your body, and Sheiko does have some accessories in to help with the rest, the program puts a lot of emphasis on specific muscle groups. So if you plan on competing on bodybuilding, where you need a balance and work on developing muscles that are not targeted by the big 3 very much, then Sheiko is probably not the best for you.

If you just want to get big and strong, then you'll be fine with it.
